HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!
Ok, so I’m totally late with this, but…
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!
As Super Tuesday approaches and our nation gets ready to mark yet another milestone in our political history, I wanted to take a moment to explain why it is that I’m supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton and not Barack Obama…
Aside from the fact that she’s incredibly brilliant, politically astute, and a seasoned politician, I find her to be a true leader in every sense of the word as opposed to Barack Obama. Granted, while Obama is also intelligent and charismatic, he’s also inexperienced. I don’t doubt his intentions as I find him to be quite an ethical and upstanding candidate and politician. What I do doubt though, is his lack of a true plan. At the current moment, our country is facing a pivotal time where we need real leadership to guide us to real and effective change, and unfortunately, I don’t believe that Obama can do that for us. Yes, he’s inspirational, but inspirational rhetoric will do nothing for our declining economy, nor the troubles that have resulted from this outgoing administration. Hillary, on the other hand, does have experience that stems not only from her terms as a Senator, but also from her time as a First Lady. Some people argue against her citing that they can’t trust her because she’s so calculating. Why is that a problem? Why would you knock someone for having a clear vision as to how they want to change this country? Unfortunately, spontaneity and cluelessness are luxuries that this country can ill afford given our past 7 years. In short, while I have nothing personal against Obama, I feel that as a Presidential candidate in this election, he would be nothing more than a band-aid for our country’s problems. He would cover up this country’s wound with his inspirational rhetoric, all the while allowing the wound to grow and fester with his lack of experience and direction. Hillary is the solution. She has direction, experience, and more importantly, my vote…
Wow, it certainly has been a while since I last updated this! Thanks to those of you who gave me the little nudge to finally post an entry.
It’s been a crazy year so far. Healthwise, I started it off sick, recovered a little bit, and now, I’m sick again. Not fun. That aside, everything else is going pretty well. I’m still traveling a lot. Since my last update, I was in Shanghai, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Chichibu, Tahoe, Reno, and Honolulu. I’ll post up pics later, once I sort through the thousands that were taken. Work is keeping me very busy as usual, and life in general is pretty good, which is more than I can say for our economy…
Speaking of which, what the hell is going on with our economy?! We’re dangerously close to a recession, the US dollar is worth LESS than the Canadian dollar, and the future is looking bleaker and bleaker. What the hell has Dubya gotten us into?! Why has he not been impeached yet?! I still don’t get how Americans could crucify Bill Clinton for essentially being a human, while not even bothering to slap Dubya on the hand for not only sacrificing millions of American lives, but also wasting trillions of dollars in tax-payers’ money in his quest to fight terrorism. Then again, this is America, the land of self-entitlement and hypocrisy. Yes, we in dire need of a change indeed…
…and she’ll take us there…
It’s almost 2am now and I’m still up. My neck is bothering me, and despite my attempts to sleep it off, it’s to no avail. Ugh, I hate you stupid lady for destroying my car, injuring my neck and back, preventing me from going to the gym, and now, giving me insomnia. May karma return your favor ten-fold! Hrmph!
The past couple of weeks has been pretty draining and tumultuous. Aside from having my car totaled, my neck feeling as if it were about to snap off from the weight of holding up my head, dealing with the insurance crap, and oh yeah, dealing with all of that by myself with work on top of all of that, I was really looking forward to just enjoying some time with Paul this weekend, and not having to worry about anything. While we were able to spend some quality time with one another and celebrate our 2 year anniversary, it seems that my recent trend of luck just wasn’t quite finished yet. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I got pulled over for speeding this morning as Paul and I were driving to his niece’s baptism in San Jose. Just my luck right?! Argh! I hate driving! I hate cars! I want to move back to Asia where you just don’t encounter these kinds of problems because they have an effective mass transportation system that actually works!!! Am I irritated? Yes. Are things going to get better? I soooooo hope so!
On a somewhat brighter note, I was contemplating parking my car across the street from our apartment, but at the last minute decided to park in the driveway instead. Turns out I made the right decision because just an hour ago, a car totally lost control and spun through that exact same spot that I was going to park in, and collided with the wall. I hope the people are ok. I know all too well how it feels to be in their shoes, so my prayers are definitely with them.
Paul went back down to LA today, so I’m a bit depressed and lonely, as I always am whenever we have to say our goodbyes. I’ll write more about the exciting events of this weekend later, perhaps when I’m not feeling so sorry for myself…
Wow! I can’t believe it’s already October now! The year’s gone by so quickly, I’ve hardly had a chance to really write about any of the exciting things that have happened. I’ll do a quick, but very visual recap of the past couple of trips while they’re still fresh in my mind…
HAWAII
So up until Labor Day, I still hadn’t been to Hawaii despite my many travels all around the world. I guess I had just taken it for granted since it was so close by, and also because it was part of the US and I’m not really a fan of domestic travel. Additionally, I really didn’t want to go there by myself or with my family, so when Milo and Ryan asked me to go, I was totally jazzed and couldn’t help but say yes. They had been there a couple of times before and had a lot of local friends there, so I knew my first time there would be well beyond the regular touristy stuff. I got to meet the 808 Crew, and they showed us all an absolutely fabulous time.
let the party begin! Mai-Tai’s!

Ok, so this entry wound up having more pics than I had anticipated, so for the sake of having to scroll even more, I’ll save my Seoul pics for another entry, and leave you with one final pic…
I first heard of Wong Fu back when I was still in college. They’re 3 very talented friends who shared a real passion for making films, and they’ve consistently impressed and entertained me with every single piece they’ve created. Now, they’ve all graduated and are turning their passion into a career, and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. If anyone deserves to be successful, it’s these guys. Here’s a recent project that really just made me smile, both from the nostalgia of being back in Hong Kong, and from the simple and beautiful message at the end. Enjoy!
So last night was the Google Dance (think high school dance, but with a Google twist and budget). Simply put, it was awesome! As always, there was a lot of food and free swag. The DJ’s were totally awesome and we had a blast eating and dancing the night away. Here are some pics from the evening! Enjoy!

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! The weekend is finally here! Next to a holiday, I think Fridays are my next favorite day. The sheer euphoria that I get from the realization that I can just bum around all weekend and not do anything is almost enough to make me giddy like a teeny bopper at a JT concert, but I’ll save that for the weekend so I don’t freak out my officemates. So yes, TGIF!
MINI SPOILER ALERT: Live Free or Die Hard
So last night, I watched Bruce Willis’ latest action thriller, ‘Live Free or Die Hard’. It was my first Die Hard movie, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Aside from the highly impossible and sensationalized stunts, I found the movie to be pretty darn good. The acting wasn’t bad, and I really didn’t have any issues with the characters or story line, or lack thereof. I’m not sure why, but my favorite part of the movie was when Bruce Willis totally beat the crap out of Mai Linh, the fiesty dragon lady bitch played by the incredibly beautiful Maggie Q.
Anyhow, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, I’d highly recommend it. In terms of entertainment value, I’d give it two thumbs up! Now if they had only had either a topless Paul Walker or Channing Tatum, or better yet both, then I’d have totally given them two manicured thumbs up!
Alrighty, time to get back to work. Happy Friday everyone and enjoy the clip below!
