  • …calories…

    So one of my new year resolutions is to go to the gym as close to every day as possible. While I’ve been relatively good and averaging at least 3-4 times a week, I’m not seeing too many gains in terms of muscle growth. I’m currently at 121 lbs., but I want to add on at least another 10 lbs., preferably all muscle. I’ve been avoiding using any supplements or drinking any protein shakes, but many have told me that if I want to gain weight, I need to increase my caloric intake. One of my friends said that I need to up it to 3000 calories a day in order to gain the weight/muscle that I need. Just to give you an idea of how much I have to eat. One Big Mac is 704 calories, so I’d basically have to eat a little more than 4 of these suckers to get to my target. Ugh!

    So far today, I’m up to about 1500 calories. For breakfast, I had 3 strawberry waffles and some scrambled eggs. Then I had a Protein Naked Juice drink.

    This sucker has 500 calories in each bottle, but as Brian puts it, tastes like a chalky pina-colada, and I’m inclined to agree, haha. Then for lunch, I had a carne asada pseudo-burrito, veal, some fish, and an It’s It for dessert, which gave me 304 calories all by itself.

    For dinner, I must gorge myself. Who knew gaining weight was supposed to be this difficult?! Ugh!

  • Well if you’d like, a Six Dollar Burger + fries = 1400 calories. Although I doubt you’d like all that fat in your diet, haha.

  • Are you trying to piss the fat people (i.e. me) off? If you eat like I do at Joy Sushi, you will have no problem gaining 20 lbs.

  • Lol, just make sure you get good and healthy calories … not 4 Big Macs. And I know of an easy way to get you to eat A LOT, but it involves umm illegal activities … hehe.

  • Gaining weight is sooo hard. I ate like a pig and took protein shakes everyday and worked out and gained 7 pounds in like a month.

  • goodness! i think you’re lovely just the way you are. what’s with this 3000 calories a day thing — haha..i don’t know if big macs are the way to go. healthy choices ty! good thing you’re at google. go get a snack now or something.

  • You’re supposed to eat high protein HEALTHY foods like lean meat and fish, not McDonald’s if you want to gain muscle… I think…

  • Wait… noooooooooo, pick a few healthier alternatives, man. I certainly wouldn’t want you to wind up with cloggeries (clogged arteries). The naked juice is a good choice, but why not add yogurt, cereal, and plenty of chicken (all of which you can grab on the plex).

    Oh one more tip. Stay away from those ubiquitous “food sources” that are never more then 150 feet away from your desk, as the weight you gain from that stuff would be mostly fat.

  • well, everyone at my work has discovered that if you snack all day (i don’t help by supplying all the snackies to everyone) and then sitting around on your a**, then you can EASILY gain 10 lbs. too bad it’s all fat and not muscles. haha.

  • i put on a lot of weight by eating a lot of steak. i am trying to lose weight at the moment. so i thought that would help.

  • lol I always see my friends drinking those Naked drinks? how is it? good? eh.. gaining weight is so hard, you must be consistent, you can do it Ty! haha! aww I miss you guys, lol… I miss summer in SF so much. T_T *sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • dude, hello, of course i noticed that i disabled them!  *dur* totally intentional!  haha.  yes, i know it’s not nice to not let anyone else comment… but, it’s just how i’m doing it for now!  (crazy, as i know it, is chi(1) sin(5).  unless you were talking about yau mouh gau cho ah! (horrible spelling, i know)). 

  • i remember i went on an all protein diet for 3 months. i gained 4 pounds. i was mad. lol. if you go to in n out, you can get some good calories AND protein (since that’s what you’re going for) at the same time.. just ask protein style.. and take cheese out.. or no spread.. or add on a couple patties. personally i love my 4×4 protein style. yum.
