…self-worth…
courtesy of Johny.
A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200 he asked who would like this $20. Hands started going up. He said I am going to give this to one of you, but first let me do this. He proceeded to crumple the bill. He then asked who still wants it, still hands stayed up in the air. Well what if I did this. He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it with his shoe. He picked it up now crumpled and dirty. Now who wants it. Still hands stayed up. My friends we have all learned a valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money you still wanted it because it didn’t decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives we are dropped, crumpled and ground into dirt by the decisions that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless but no matter what happened or what will happen, you will never decrease in value. Dirty or clean, you will never lose your value. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know but by who we are.
Count your blessing and not your problems.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Yeah, that’s about as much as I can tell too from I’ve read.

Great lesson… An instructor from my past taught me this in a similar fashion. And it was a privilege to finally meet you!
i was at your apartment today =P
That’s a very good illustration. Unfortunately, I don’t care for the comparison of a person’s worth to the value of money, but I get the point.
this is very encouraging to me. this cheered me up a lot after having a long day yesterday… thanks for sharing!!
I’ve heard this passage on quite a few occasions. It has never lost its impact each time.
