…what next?
Wow, a lot has happened since my last post. I’ve wanted to just sit down and write down all my thoughts and opinions for some time now, but I just kept putting it off. I guess now is as good a time as any to update…
SHIRLEY & CHRISTIE
My HK buddies, Shirley and Christie came to visit me for a week and it was awesome, minus my retarded flatmates and their totally rude and inconsiderate actions! Regardless, it was so great to finally see them again. We reminisced a lot about all the great times we had in Hong Kong. It seems like so long ago though. I miss HK! To all my HK pals, I thought it’d be nice to take a stroll down memory lane…
Jenny and me showing that we too can be flamingos, haha

DREAMWORLD!!!

The Bangkok Bunch!

One of the best birthdays I ever had! Thanks guys!

Mmmm, sooooo good!

Awww, Malaysia! That hotel hall floor wasn’t that bad actually, haha!

Oh Singapore, how I miss you!

GOOD TIMES!
CHICAGO
This city is MASSIVE, HUUUUUUUUUGE I tell you!
Thank goodness for the mass transit system that runs 24 hours there! Geez, it’s places like Chicago that make me feel even more disappointed with BART, ah well, what can ya do?! Anyhow, a BIG THANKS goes to my future roomie Noodle for taking us around and showing us the city, and to Chicken Wing’s friend, Chris, who housed us during our short, but sweet vacation there. I hadn’t been to Chicago before, so I was pretty impressed with everything that I saw there. The architecture was awesome, the food was fabulous, and the shopping was spectacular–yes, I love alliteration, haha. I especially loved going to the thrift stores there, I got a couple of cute vintage shirts that actually fit me! It was great! Chicagoans are a bit larger than average, and since I’m smaller than average, there were plenty of small sizes to choose from, haha. LOVED IT! What I didn’t love though, was how segregated and racist Chicago was. You would think that in a metropolitan city such as Chicago, the issue of race relations wouldn’t be as tense as it was, but no, ignorance is rampant everywhere in the world regardless of whether you live in a suburb or city. It really pissed me off to have to witness some of the atrocious acts of racism that weekend. I can only hope that time and more human interaction from all walks of life will temper their ignorance. Also, gay life kinda sucked there. We didn’t get to do any clubbing there, but we went to Boystown and checked everything out. It was clean and nice, but yeah, not many Asians, not many young people, in fact, not much of anything there, haha. All in all though, it was a very good and relaxing trip. What can be better than spending your vacation actually relaxing and having fun with friends?! Here are a couple of shots from my trip in Chicago. I didn’t take too many pictures because I kind of just wanted to experience the city without feeling like a tourist. I regret not taking more pictures now, but perhaps I can get it from Chicken Wing, haha.
The Bean and the City!

The EL, as Chicagoans call it. They’re so weird with their “pop” and what not, haha.

Just FOBulous!! Noodle, Chicken Wing, Teresa, and me!
DESTINY’S CHILD & KELLY CLARKSON
The concerts and crowds were complete polar opposites. The Destiny’s Child concert was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Amerie and Mario opened for the divas and totally got the crowd revved up for what proved to be an unforgettable performance, especially the Soldier performance! Aside from the fabulous music of Destiny’s Child and Mario, there was also another talent that stole my attention that night–Mr. Bryan Tanaka!!! OMFG! He’s so freakin’ hott! Ruth’s camera totally died on her and so she wasn’t able to get any photos of him, but I went ahead and did some research. For your viewing pleasure, here he is in the flesh!

As for Kelly Clarkson, the show was kind of tragic. She has a wonderful voice, but she was straining it so much at the beginning that by the middle of the show, her voice had died on her.
Visualize this year’s VMA performance and you’ll understand what I mean. She had to go acoustic with her performance, in addition to taking her songs down an octave! OMG, soooo TRAGIC! Also, there were a lot of little teenie boppers that were there screaming their heads off. I think Ben’s right ear drum is busted because these two obnoxious little girls wouldn’t stop screaming and jumping up and down. Damn, I wonder how they’d act at a Justin Timberlake concert, haha!
WORKING & LIFE
Work sucks, enough said!
There’s a part of me that wants to start a career already since I’m all done with college now, but it’s so difficult because I know grad school’s just around the corner. Speaking of grad school, I really need to get started on my LSAT’s and my GRE’s. I’m soooo not looking forward to any of those tests. Ugh, and then there’s the whole application process too. Damn, I can’t wait until I get into grad school, wherever it may be. I just want to be settled in again…Speaking of settled in, I’ll be moving again soon. I can’t stand my flatmates. They’re incredibly inconsiderate, rude, and are the epitome of White trash. They’re a straight couple that are in their early 30′s, White, and all they do is fuck or fight, and they do so at ungodly hours! It’s one thing to fight and argue, but they go beyond that. They start slamming doors, throwing each other into the walls, running up and down the stairs, throwing stuff at each other, etc. ALL AT 3 IN THE FREAKIN’ MORNING!!! WTF?!
Ugh, they’re sooooo trashy! Thank God I’m on a month-to-month lease with them. I love the area and I love the price, but given the choice between my wallet and my sanity, I’d choose the latter. I’m just biding my time right now until Noodle graduates in December, then we’re gonna get a place together. HURRY UP NOODLE!!!Alrighty, time for laundry…
